About Me

How it Started

"If you don't build your dreams, then someone will hire you to build theirs"

-Tony Gaskins

I grew up in Moulton, Alabama, which is a small town. I am the oldest sibling of three. Family and Football is what kept my town alive.

My passion for agriculture began when I moved up into high school. I had to choose an elective during high school so I decided I would try FFA because my counselor described it as a 'manly' class and of course I just had to take it.

My agriculture educator introduced me to the Poultry Judging CDE contest. I fell in love with agriculture then and there. I led my team to win State competition and place 21st in the Nation. I also competed in Poultry Production SAE contest, which I won State and placed Silver at the National competition.

Ms. Codi Plaster, who is the Student Coordinator for the Poultry Department, came to visit my high school about potential careers in poultry. I knew with the amount of possibilities in poultry that it was the right path for me!

I began my poultry education at Wallace State Community College, whom Mr. Ray Hilburn of the Alabama Poultry and Egg Association, took me under his wing and allowed me to receive the 2+2 program scholarship with WSCC and Auburn University and allowed me to job shadoww him.

While I prepared to go to Auburn University, I assisted with 4-H's youth chick judging and sale. I mentored Lawrence County High School's Poultry Judging Team. At the Alabama Poultry and Egg Show, I would help by judging or being a clerk for the show. Next, I completed an internship with Pilgrim's in Russellville, AL.

I am currently at Auburn University living/chasing my dreams, while preparing to become the next industry leaders.
